The Hakushu 18 Years (70cl)

The Hakushu 18 Years is a Japanese single malt in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a distillery described as the largest malt whisky distillery in the world, and one that uses malt imported from Scotland. The distillery sits at an altitude of 700 metres, where the climate slows maturation and lessens the influence of the wood. This whisky spent 18 years in bourbon and sherry casks. The nose offers orange, pear and a light smokiness. The palate is sweet, with red berries, dark chocolate and caramel, and a thin thread of smoke returns. The finish is long and spicy.
