The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.5 is a release from The Lakes, in a 70cl bottle at 52%. The series is an exploration of oak and blending, and of how flavour develops, with an increasing influence from sherry casks.
The nose is perfumed and fruity, with polished oak, red apples, chocolate and hints of Devonshire cream. On the palate come peanut and walnut baklava, baking spices, candied papaya and hints of coffee. The finish is vibrant and creamy, with toasted brown sugar.
