The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt, matured for 12 years in sherry-seasoned casks made from both American and European oak. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle and has natural colour.
The two oaks each contribute something different: European oak is associated with rich dried fruit, American oak with creamy vanilla and caramel.
The overall character is described as smooth, with a balance of sweetness and spice.
