The Macallan Double Cask is a 12 year old Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It draws on both American and European oak: the whisky was matured first in American virgin oak casks and then in Spanish sherry casks.
The nose is usually described as vanilla, honey, ginger, dried fruit, sherry sweetness and smoky wood. On the palate, dried fruit and sherry sit in good balance with smoky wood and spice.
