The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Cask is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV. It is matured for 12 years exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, made from European and American oak, and is of natural colour.
The nose offers raisin, dried cherry, fig and sultana with spiced orange zest, vanilla bean, nutmeg and toasted oak, plus dark chocolate, honeycomb and a little leather. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, led by currant, prune and date, with caramel, cinnamon, clove and ginger, and soft cocoa and mocha beneath. The finish is long and warming.
