The Macallan 15 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt matured for 15 years in American and European sherry-seasoned oak. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
The American oak is credited with vanilla and caramel, while the European oak adds dried fruit and spice.
On the nose it is creamy vanilla and honey with dried apricot, candied orange peel and gentle warming spice. The palate is honeyed and well rounded, with butterscotch, baking spice, light raisins and soft oak. The finish is medium to long and warming, with vanilla sweetness and a faint dried fruit trace.
