The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Cask is a Speyside single malt from the Macallan Estate, established in 1824 by Alexander Reid and now owned by the Edrington Group.
It spent nearly two decades in hand-picked European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry, which gives it a light mahogany natural colour.
The nose offers dried fruits, ginger and dates with vanilla, cinnamon and orange zest. On the palate it is full-bodied and soft, with dark chocolate-coated ginger, sultanas and toasted oak. The finish is long, with dried fruit, warm oak spice and gentle wood tannins.
