The Macallan – 18 Year Old Sherry Oak 2017 Annual Release (75cl, 43%)

This is the 2017 Annual Release of The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak, a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle at 43% (86 proof). It was made under Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno from spirit distilled in 1999 and earlier. The whisky is matured for a minimum of 18 years in hand-selected, sherry-seasoned European oak casks from Jerez, Spain. It has natural colour and came in the original purple gift box, in the classic shouldered bottle used before the 2018 redesign. It is described as stewed fruit and old leather, with ripe cherries, gingersnaps, black pepper and orange marmalade, then sweet orange and milk chocolate-coated Turkish delight, and a long, spicy finish.
