The Macallan 25 Year Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle. It belongs to the Macallan Sherry Oak range, whose whiskies are matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez.
This one spent twenty-five years in Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, and has a rich mahogany colour.
The nose is fruity, with orange and pear, sweet spices that turn almost smoky, and hints of honey and caramel. On the palate come dried apricots, prunes and figs, with nutmeg, cinnamon and honey. The finish is long, carrying fig, spice, chewy oak and a touch of light smoke.
