A Night on Earth in Scotland is the first release in The Macallan's annual A Night on Earth series, issued in a very limited run. It centres on Hogmanay, the Scottish way of celebrating the new year, including the custom of first footing, where a bottle of whisky is among the traditional gifts.
Head Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess made it, drawing on her family memories of Hogmanay. The packaging was created with the illustrator Erica Dorn. The whisky is bottled at 43% ABV and is soft and velvety, with flavours of Scottish shortbread, dried oranges and spices.
