The Macallan A Night On Earth - The First Light is a Speyside single malt, the fourth release in the A Night On Earth series. It celebrates New Zealand's first sunrise of the New Year, and its packaging was created with New Zealand illustrator Bonnie Brown. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
The whisky was matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks together with ex-bourbon American oak, pairing the distillery's sherry-oak richness with lighter, sweeter notes from the bourbon wood.
The nose is Manuka honey, citrus zest, caramel and ripe orchard fruit with gentle warm spice. The palate is creamy, with berry compote, vanilla, toasted marshmallow and sweet oak. The finish is medium, with soft toffee and mellow oak.
