The First Light is the fourth release in The Macallan's A Night on Earth series, which looks at how people around the world welcome the new year. This edition turns to New Zealand, with its beach fires, fireworks over the sea and sunrise. It was created by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team and bottled at 43% ABV.
The whisky is matured in a mix of sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, with a touch of bourbon casks. It is described as warm, fruity and elegant, with summer fruits, vanilla and a hint of oak.
