The Macallan Aera is a single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was intended for the Taiwanese market only, and a small number of bottles found their way to Europe.
The whisky matured in the distillery's best oak casks and was finished in sherry casks.
It is amber in colour. The nose has aromatic vanilla, sweet dried fruit and fresh citrus. The palate is full-bodied and fruity, with sweet notes, a little chocolate and refreshing citrus. The finish is long, with intense vanilla.
