The Macallan Anecdotes of Ages - An Estate, A Community, and A Distillery by Sir Peter Blake (70cl, 47.7%)

The Macallan Anecdotes of Ages is a single malt Scotch whisky at 47.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, made with British pop artist Sir Peter Blake. It is the third time The Macallan has worked with him, and the bottle comes from the Anecdotes of Ages Collection announced in February 2021. Blake designed the label digitally, and it tells stories of colourful characters from The Macallan's past and present. It comes in an art presentation case with a certificate, a printed art scroll and a tracing-paper overlay identifying each character. Dried fruits, treacle, cracked black pepper and orange come on the nose. The palate shows clove, vanilla and rich oak over dark fruit, and the finish is long and warming with lingering spice.
