The flagship of The Macallan's Carta Nautica collection, distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2026 at 38 years old. One of 600 bottles, it celebrates the transatlantic journeys of The Macallan's oak since 1824. Maturation began in oak casks seasoned with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, before the whisky was moved to casks that previously held bourbon in America. It is bottled at 45.2% ABV with natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. Nose: creamy vanilla with caramelised peaches, rich oak alongside tropical pineapple with a touch of rose and pink grapefruit. Palate: antique oak with orange oil, berry compote and nectarines, with a twist of charred pineapple and leather and sweet tarte au citron. Finish: lingering wood spice, tropical fruit and luscious sultanas.
