The Macallan Classic Cut 2024 Edition is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 52.4% in a 750ml bottle. It is the eighth release in the annual Classic Cut series, which began in 2017.
The whisky is matured in sherry-seasoned European oak, sherry-seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon casks, and bottled at the strength the whisky maker chose. At full strength rich vanilla leads. With water, brought toward 40%, tropical fruit and lemon come forward.
The nose has rich vanilla, orchard fruits, marzipan, citrus peel, fresh herbs and sweet oak. The palate brings baked custard, milk chocolate, green apple and oak spices, and the finish is long and sweet.
