The Macallan Concept Number 2 is the second release in the Concept Series, which appeared in 2019. It was inspired by Steven Bremner, a Macallan whisky maker who is also a DJ, and the packaging draws on vinyl records and sound waves.
The whisky was matured in American oak sherry casks, American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak sherry casks.
The nose has apple, raisins, toffee and fresh oak, with a little vanilla and light spice. The palate brings dates, figs, nutmeg and roasted almonds, with a creamy undertone of vanilla and honey. The finish is long, with soft fruit and a warm, woody close.
