The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old is a single malt matured for a minimum of 12 years on The Macallan Estate in Speyside. It is matured mainly in sherry-seasoned European oak casks, and the sherry influence gives it a warm character.
The nose brings dried fruit, candied citrus peel and oak, with ginger and nutmeg. On the palate there are raisins and sultanas with ginger syrup, moving to sweet cinnamon spice and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long, with oak and warming ginger.
