The Macallan Double Cask 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, in a 75cl bottle. It is made from whisky matured in two kinds of cask: Sherry-seasoned ex-Bourbon barrels and Sherry casks.
The pairing is the point of the expression. European oak contributes spice, while American oak adds vanilla. The Sherry brings its own dessert-like flavours of dark chocolate and caramel.
