A Speyside single malt aged for 18 years in a mix of American and European sherry-seasoned oak casks, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The American oak is said to add sweet vanilla and butterscotch, while the European oak brings darker dried fruit and winter spice. Long maturation has drawn out dark caramel and a firm oak structure.
On the nose it offers dark caramel, dried fig, baked orange peel and vanilla pod. The palate brings treacle toffee, dark chocolate, Christmas spice and ripe stone fruit, leading to a long finish of oak, dried fruit and a touch of smoke.
