The Macallan – Double Cask Gold Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 40%)

The Macallan Double Cask Gold is a single malt Scotch whisky without an age statement, bottled at 40% ABV. It was previously sold as The Macallan Gold in the 1824 Series. It matures in sherry seasoned casks of American and European oak, each seasoned with oloroso sherry. The American oak gives soft vanilla, citrus sweetness and a creamy texture, while the European oak adds cinnamon, ginger and gentle dried fruit. The gold colour comes from the wood alone, with no added colouring. The nose has creamy butterscotch, toffee apple, candied orange peel, vanilla custard and freshly cut oak. The palate is honeyed and rounded, with wood spice and bright citrus.
