The Macallan Edition N°5 is a special edition single malt from the Macallan distillery at Craigellachie in Speyside, made in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute. Pantone's colour specialists helped create a bold, distinctive shade of purple for the packaging.
The edition draws attention to natural colour. The whisky is bottled without added colouring and matured only in American oak casks.
Vanilla and caramel lead the nose, with oak, nutmeg, ginger and pear. The palate is fresh and sweet, with caramel, peach, pear, nutmeg and toffee, and the finish is lightly spicy with a background of ginger.
