The Macallan Edition No. 5 is a limited-edition Speyside single malt without an age statement, the fifth in the annual Edition series, first released in 2019. It was made as a celebration of natural colour and the influence of oak, and is bottled at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle.
The casks include first-fill American oak bourbon barrels, refill hogsheads and first-fill seasoned American oak butts, which together give a richly hued spirit. The packaging uses a bespoke Pantone purple, created with the Pantone Color Institute.
