The Macallan – Fine Oak 10 Year Old Triple Cask (75cl, 40%)

This is The Macallan Fine Oak 10 Year Old, a Speyside single malt from the Fine Oak range, which was launched in 2004. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 40% (80 proof), with natural colour. It is matured for a minimum of ten years in three types of cask: sherry-seasoned European oak, sherry-seasoned American oak and bourbon-seasoned American oak. The Fine Oak range was the first at Macallan to use ex-bourbon casks, and it was renamed Triple Cask Matured in 2018. The bourbon casks are said to add vanilla, honey and orchard fruit, giving a lighter, more honeyed malt than Macallan's sherry-oak-only releases.
