The Macallan Inspired by Fresh Coconut is the sixth and final release in The Macallan Harmony Collection, a series exploring how natural materials can inspire both the whisky and its packaging. The Whisky Mastery Team chose sherry-seasoned American oak and bourbon casks to bring out the coconut character found naturally in the wood, with no added flavouring.
It is bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle and comes in a box made from paper containing discarded coconut fibres.
The nose offers fresh coconut and coconut milk, lime, lemon peel and orange, then mango and papaya. The palate is sweet lime and lemon sponge with desiccated coconut, and the finish keeps the coconut alongside soft spice.
