The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea is a limited edition single malt made in collaboration with JING, whose Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea gave the whisky its inspiration. It is bottled at 43.9% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky was matured mainly in sherry-seasoned American oak, with European oak and a small touch of ex-bourbon casks in support. The aim was a floral, honeyed and tropical character that mirrors the tea.
Peach and apricot lead the nose, with floral honey behind. The palate brings tropical fruit, creamy toffee and a whisper of citrus, and the long finish carries ripe fruit, soft oak and a dry tea-leaf note.
