The Macallan Harmony Collection Intense Arabica is a Speyside single malt released in 2022 as the second edition in the Harmony Collection, bottled at 44% ABV. It takes its inspiration from the Ethiopian Arabica coffee bean.
Whisky maker Steven Bremner created it after a masterclass with coffee specialists, aiming for the depth of a rich espresso. The whisky is matured in sherry-seasoned European and American oak and is at natural colour. No coffee is added.
The tasting notes describe tiramisu, cappuccino, gingerbread and raisins on the nose. The palate brings espresso, dark chocolate, blackberry and Brazil nut, and the finish is long, with sweet dark roast coffee.
