The Macallan Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak is a Speyside single malt, the fourth edition of the annual Harmony Collection. It was created with Cirque du Soleil for the distillery's 200th anniversary and is bottled at 44.2% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
Whisky maker Diane Stuart married first-fill American oak casks seasoned with sherry in Spain with refill sherry oak, choosing them for vanilla, citrus and sweet oak. Oak chippings left over from cask-making are reused in the presentation box and labels.
The nose opens with vanilla bean, sherbet and lime zest, then pears in vanilla sponge. The palate is creamy vanilla, shortbread, toasted coconut, almond brittle, apple and sweet oak. The finish is medium and sweet, with lingering vanilla.
