The Macallan – Horizon (70cl, 46.6%)

The Macallan Horizon is a single malt Scotch whisky made in collaboration with Bentley Motors, in a 70cl bottle at 46.6% ABV. Its vessel is horizontal, a design taken from the automotive world, and six materials important to both The Macallan and Bentley went into making it. The whisky comes from six first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks and has a dark mahogany colour. The nose is resinous polished oak, plums, dark cherries and fresh leather, with sticky dates, raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate come dark treacle, cinder toffee, crystallised ginger and charred pineapple, then vanilla, fudge and chocolate-coated Brazil nuts. The finish is long and rich.
