The Macallan Litha is a Speyside single malt matured entirely in first-fill oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez, Spain. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour.
Because every cask is first-fill, the oak brings plenty of Oloroso character to the whisky.
The nose has butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate and citrus, with a lift of tropical fruit. The palate offers vanilla ice cream, berry compote, toasted oak, salted caramel and pecans, and the finish is medium, with fruit, vanilla and gentle oak.
