The Macallan Litha is a Speyside single malt matured exclusively in first-fill, sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera, then finished at The Macallan Estate. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The name comes from the summer solstice. The presentation box, illustrated by Sija Hong, represents the union of Spain and Scotland.
Golden in colour, it has a nose of butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate and citrus lifted by tropical fruits. The palate offers vanilla ice cream with berry compote, toasted oak, salted caramel, pecans and warming spice. The finish is medium, with fruit and sweet oak.
