This is The Macallan Masters of Photography Rare Cask Black, made in collaboration with the photographer Steven Klein. It was released in 2016 and is the first peated whisky The Macallan bottled. It is bottled at 48% without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle, and 5,000 bottles were made. The whisky was drawn from 100 sherry-seasoned casks. Its colour is dark amber. The nose has peat smoke through dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger and polished oak, with smoked mincemeat, old leather and roasted hazelnuts. The palate is dry and smoky, softening to integrated oak, with a light peat echo. The finish is long, with wood smoke, dried fruits, toasted nuts and gentle oak spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
