This is the 2023 annual release of The Macallan Rare Cask, made in collaboration with Charlie Burchill, guitarist of Simple Minds. It is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV, and the collaboration looks at the links between music and whisky. The whisky comes from American and European ex-sherry oak casks, with a high proportion of first-fill, selected by the Whisky Mastery Team. It is of natural colour with no added caramel, and a ruby mahogany shade. The nose is soft vanilla and rich raisin with fresh apple, lemon and orange. The palate is dominated by sweet raisin, then vanilla, dark chocolate and light citrus zest. The finish is long and velvety, with raisin, vanilla, dark chocolate and a last note of citrus zest.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
