The Macallan Red Collection 78 Years Old is a sherried single malt bottled at 42.2%. The collection takes its name from Macallan's founder, Alexander Reid, known as 'the Red One', and its red colour draws on the Macallan 'Choice Old' range first released in 1903. The illustrations are by the Spanish painter and illustrator Javi Aznarez. The nose offers apple, peach and grape, moving into fresh lime and verbena. The palate brings nutmeg and ginger spice, rich dried fruits, treacle toffee and baked apple sweetness. The finish carries the flavours of both nose and palate.
