The Macallan – Red Collection 78 Years Old (70cl)

The Macallan Red Collection 78 Years Old is a single malt from Speyside, in a 70cl bottle. The spirit came from The Macallan's small copper stills and was laid down in hand-picked oak casks, where it matured for seventy-eight years. It is the oldest release from the distillery to date. The collection takes its name from the reds found throughout The Macallan's history: founder Alexander Reid, whose surname means "the red", the Choice Old range of 1903, and the red ribbon Allan Shiach used to mark vintage bottles in the 1980s. It is introduced by Lead Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess.
