The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for 12 years exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle, with natural colour.
The distillery oversees its casks from forest to cooperage, through seasoning in Jerez and back to Scotland, and this expression is matured entirely in that sherry oak.
The tasting notes begin with dried fruits, sherry and clove, moving to orange, wood smoke and dark chocolate. The finish brings toasted oak and lingering spice.
