Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old is a 2024 edition single malt, matured for 18 years predominantly in European oak casks seasoned with sherry from Jerez, Spain. American oak sherry-seasoned casks make up a smaller share of the mix.
The whisky is light mahogany in colour, with notes of ginger, dark chocolate and dates.
The nose is treacle tart with stem ginger, soaked raisins and sultanas, with a hint of orange and ground cinnamon. The palate is soft and rich, with dark chocolate-coated ginger, dates and dried apricots, balanced by oak and vanilla sweetness. The finish lingers with dried fruits, ginger and oak.
