The Macallan – Sherry Oak 25 Year Old 2023 (75cl, 43%)

This is the 2023 annual release of The Macallan's Sherry Oak 25 Year Old, a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured for twenty-five years in Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, made from both European and American oak. The long maturation gives a rich mahogany colour. The distillery describes the character as citrus, dried fruit and wood smoke, with vanilla and ginger spice. The nose offers orange, pear and sweet spices. On the palate come dried apricots, prunes, figs, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey, followed by a long finish of milk chocolate, macchiato and seasoned oak.
