The Representative 4 Year Old Barrel Proof Bourbon Whiskey Spring 2023 (75cl, 58.1%)

The Representative is the flagship of the independent bottler Proof & Wood Ventures. This is the Spring 2023 batch, a high-rye bourbon distilled by MGP in Indiana and bottled at barrel proof, about 58.15%, in a 750ml bottle. It was aged for a minimum of four years in new charred American oak and blended from about twenty barrels. It is bottled without dilution or chill filtration. This batch won World's Best Bourbon (non-Kentucky) at the 2023 World Whiskies Awards. Tasters found dark fruit, rich oak, toffee and light spice on the nose. The palate brings lightly roasted nuts, herbal notes, brown sugar, cherries and pepper, followed by a medium to long, softening finish.
