The Sändebud is a six year old blended malt from Adelphi, joining Ardnamurchan single malt from Scotland with High Coast single malt from Sweden. It is vatted from four peated casks: two Ardnamurchan from 2015, in an American oak PX hogshead and a Spanish oak Oloroso hogshead, and two High Coast, from 2012 and 2015, in American oak bourbon barrels.
The nose brings mild smoked mackerel, Arbroath smokies, Fisherman's Friends, blackcurrants, ground ginger, Bavarian cheese, flapjacks and Lapsang Souchong tea. The palate is smoky and salty, with liquorice twig, ash and hawthorn berries.
