A 27-year-old single grain Scotch whisky from R&B Distillers, aged in ex-bourbon casks and bottled without chill filtration. It is a limited edition of 550 bottles.
The release takes its inspiration from the single grain of Cambus Distillery, which stopped making whisky in 1993. The name A Silent Character refers to that closure and to Cambus's part in many earlier Tweeddale bottlings.
The nose is sweet, with woody oak, peach pastries, lemon and honey. On the palate there is pear alongside a spiced, cognac-like note, and the finish is lightly grassy with a mineral structure.
