Balvy is a 35-year-old Speyside blended malt from 1989, bottled by The Whisky Jury at 52% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a teaspooned whisky, meaning a small measure of another whisky was added, which is why it has to be labelled a blended malt. The whisky matured in a refill hogshead, and 278 bottles were filled. Dried and orchard fruit open the nose, followed by leather, wood varnish, tea and clove. It is described as a honeyed, old-school Speyside.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
