The Wiseman is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey made from a mash bill of 95% rye. It is the first permanent release under master blender John Rhea, bottled at a strength chosen to make it more approachable.
The nose is rich and spicy, with fresh rye bread, a little sweet caramel and cinnamon. The palate is rich rye with a spicy character. The finish is long, beginning with fresh rye bread, moving to buttered cinnamon toast and ending with a hint of English walnut.
