The Yamazaki 12 Years is a Japanese single malt in a 70cl bottle, made from heavily peated barley. It is known for an oriental note of sandalwood. It has matured for at least 12 years in American, Spanish and Japanese oak casks.
The nose opens woody, then moves to peach, ripe persimmon and orange marmalade, with hints of butter, custard, caramel, coconut and vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied and sweet, with red and blackcurrant, raspberry and blueberry. The finish is long and fruity, with wood and vanilla.
