The Yamazaki 18 Years Old

The Yamazaki 18 Years Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Yamazaki distillery, founded by Torii Shinjiro in 1923 as Japan's first malt distillery. Taketsuru Masataka, who had travelled in Scotland to learn the craft of whisky making, joined in 1924 as works director and shaped the style of the whisky. The nose is fruity, with raisins and apricots and light oak and coffee. The palate moves to blackberry, strawberry and dark chocolate, and the finish is long, with cinnamon and a general sweetness.
