The Yamazaki Golden Promise is a Japanese single malt made with Golden Promise barley, a variety first grown in Scotland in the 1960s and valued for the richness and complexity it gives the spirit. The result is a malty, rich Yamazaki, matured in American oak casks.
The nose is grassy with a delicate hint of smoke. The palate is lightly peaty, with earthy and citrus notes and a surprising touch of pineapple, followed by a very complex finish with lingering peat.
