Thomas H. Handy Sazerac is a straight rye whiskey from the 2018 release, named after the New Orleans bartender who first used rye in the Sazerac cocktail. It is uncut and unfiltered, and bottled straight from the barrel at a cask strength of 64.4% abv (128.8 proof).
This release matured for over six years in 73 charred American white oak barrels.
The palate is powerful, lush and boldly spicy, with toffee, fig cake and candied fruit followed by mint, cinnamon and clove. The finish is long and warm, with subtle allspice, coconut and nutmeg.
