This is an 8 year old blended malt chosen by Thompson Bros, made from malt whiskies combined and rested in a 1000 litre European oak solera vat.
The vat is never fully emptied, so each new batch is left to marry gently with the whisky held back from the one before. When ready, the whisky is drawn off and slowly reduced to 48.5%. It is bottled without chill-filtration and with no colouring added, in a 70cl bottle.
It is described as a versatile whisky, suited to mixing and equally to drinking neat.
