A ten-year-old single-cask American rye whiskey made from 100% organic rye, bottled at barrel proof of 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It comes from Lion's Pride Spirits, which operates under Koval Distillery in Chicago.
Only the heart cut of each distillation run is used, with the heads and tails discarded. The whiskey won a Gold medal and 92 points from the Beverage Testing Institute in 2024, and a Gold Medal at the 2024 Whiskies of the World competition.
The nose brings dry oak, grasses, rye grain and black pepper. The palate is creamy, with vanilla custard, crème brûlée and dried apricot, and the finish turns to drier rye spice with cinnamon.
