Tincup Rye is a straight rye whiskey aged for three years and bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. It was launched in 2020 by Jess Graber, founder of Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, as a nod to the rye drunk in the 1850s.
The mash is 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It was distilled and aged in Indiana, then taken to Colorado and cut with Rocky Mountain water.
Golden amber in the glass, it has a nose of sweet vanilla and fresh tobacco. The palate is smooth and bold with even spice, and the finish is lingering caramel with a silky, tannic feel.
